We meet at the Inner Potential Centre, the educational arm of The Aetherius Society in Fulham, southwest London. Mark is a friendly and articulate host and we begin the interview by asking him to describe The Aetherius Society and how he became involved with it.

 

“The Aetherius Society in brief, is an organisation which teaches that there is life on other planets in the solar system on a higher level of frequency vibration. This life is not only intelligent but spiritually very advanced and they have helped us and they continue to help us throughout the ages.”

The Symbol of The Aetherius Society

 The society believes that these beings have been visiting us regularly throughout our history in flying craft and that our oldest texts are full of accounts of UFO sightings. In The Bible, The Star of Bethlehem is understood by the society to have been a UFO leading three advanced men to a great Interplanetary Master who had been born on this planet to perform a specific mission. Many of the great spiritual leaders in our history such as Shri Krishna, Buddha, Patanjali, and the Master Jesus are understood by The Aetherius Society to be advanced Interplanetary Masters who have chosen to come to our world to show us the right spiritual path.

 

The society is based on the contact their founder, Dr George King had with advanced beings from 1954 up to his passing in 1997. His writings and work are founded on how we can learn spiritually from the Cosmic Masters and include key writings such as The 9 Freedoms, a treatise of New Age philosophy delivered by the Interplanetary Master, Mars Sector 6 and recorded by Dr King. And, The Twelve Blessings, a powerful system of prayer delivered by The Master Jesus to Dr King as an extension to the Sermon on the Mount.

 

The philosophy of the society is complex but as Mark comments, “It is complex in a way yes, it’s a strange paradox. Truth is the ultimate simplicity.” He grew up in a standard Church of England family in rural England and was interested in religion from an early age. When at aged 14 he saw a television feature on The Aetherius Society he says that in a strange way it was love at first sight,

 

“…one of the things that struck me most was how this man being interviewed, seemed like a pretty ordinary, sensible, sane person, coming out with extraordinary statements like Jesus is from Venus”. It’s an observation that one could similarly make of Mark, who talks about the extraordinary in a matter of fact fashion which is undogmatic and not in the least way sensationalist.

 

Mark studied Chinese (language, history and philosophy) at the University of Cambridge and became a member of The Aetherius Society at 18 and full-time employee in his early twenties. Although he describes himself as being very left brained, he found himself in a position where he was “…almost overwhelmed with this benevolent tidal wave of truth that you have to either swim with or reject in a way that grates against yourself.” Mark strikes you as someone who is driven by genuine conviction and the desire to help humanity. He seems to emanate the admirable qualities of the society which value the importance of prayer and service to each other as a means to help and develop our race spiritually. Mark explains that the more good we do as a planetary race for each other and the earth, the easier it is for beings from other planets to help us, “There is a saying that says that if we take one step towards them, they take two towards us.” The society believes that the Interplanetary Beings are benevolent and have made contact to teach and inspire us.

 

From the time of Dr George King’s first experience with interplanetary intelligence contact has always occurred in a spirit of co-operation and harmony. This first contact known as “The Command” occurred whilst Dr King was in his flat in Maida Vale in 1954 on a Saturday morning whilst he was doing the dishes. He heard the words apparently from nowhere:

 

“Prepare yourself. You are to become the Voice of Interplanetary Parliament”

 

which later he was able to identify as the voice of The Master Aetherius, an advanced Interplanetary Being from Venus whom the society is named after. He was in his mid thirties at this point in his life and a bachelor. Dr George King had led a relatively normal life up to this point serving as a section leader in the Fire Service during the Blitz, and then working in a number of jobs including driving a taxi and working in an oil company. What singled him out to become the “Primary Terrestrial Mental Channel” was his mastery of Yoga which he developed in the ten year period between the war and his first contact with a Master from another world. He dedicated himself to the practice of Kundalini, Raja and other forms Yoga which raised his consciousness to a level where it was possible for Interplanetary Beings to communicate with him telepathically. Mark explains that there are two areas of skill for a medium. One is accuracy and one is spiritual advancement. Many mediums can accurately decipher the messages from ordinary people who have passed on, but only the very spiritually advanced can channel messages from higher spiritual beings and even then they may not achieve a high level of accuracy as their level of spirituality is not comparable with the higher being. Dr King was a very rare example of a medium who could match high levels of accuracy with an advanced level of spirituality “…the medium needs to be able to attain a state of consciousness comparable to that of the intelligence they are being overshadowed by.”

 

Dr King’s extensive communications with highly evolved beings from other planets such as the Master Aetherius, the Master Jesus and Mars Sector 6 have formed the basis of the society’s philosophy. Originally the human race existed on the planet Maldeck which we destroyed through nuclear disaster and is now the asteroid belt. The earth then allowed us to reincarnate here where there was already a race of beings called Adamic Man who have now evolved off the earth. Several human civilizations have existed before us here on Earth including Lemuria and Atlantis and each has been destroyed in nuclear catastrophe.

 

The Earth is considered to be a living being by The Aetherius Society who is more important as a goddess in her own right than all of us put together. She allows us to live here by sacrificing her true glory, and if she released her true potential and power we would all be burned as we are so much her inferior spiritually. 

 

The nuclear threat has again emerged as the greatest danger to us and the planet and Mark states that “…one of the functions of The Aetherius Society is to help prevent nuclear war through various spiritual means … most of which are involved with sending out spiritual power.” Prayer is central to the society however it is not understood in the traditional religious sense. It is more about the creation and manipulation of spiritual energy for the purpose of what Mark calls “karmic manipulation.” Operation Sunbeam, for example, is involved with “the sending of spiritual energy from advanced spiritual masters to the earth through equipment. This is a very positive karmic act.” This mission which was given to Sir George by the Cosmic Masters manipulates spiritual energies into the earths’ psychic centres and is one of several which are engaged in Spiritual Ecology.

 

Operation Prayer Power is another mission devised by Sir George King which stores the spiritual energy created through Prayer and Mantra in specially designed Prayer Batteries constructed from radionic materials such as high quality gold and quartz crystals. This energy can then be used at times of great crisis or need. Operation Prayer Power discharges are released regularly in co-operation with extraterrestrial scientists who know exactly where on the Earth energy is needed at any given time, and are also performed to meet specific crises when they occur.

In 1974, for example, the Spiritual Energy from a discharged Operation Prayer Power Battery in London was directed to peacemakers working to end the war between Turkey and Greece over Cyprus, who were gathered at the United Nations in New York. A ceasefire occurred within hours of the Battery being discharged and the military regimes controlling the island were forced to quit.

 

Mark explains that “…the main message of the Aetherius Society is that the only energy crisis on earth is the spiritual energy crisis. And if this crisis is solved then all other energy crises will also be solved … And the way to bring about this change is to invoke and send out spiritual energy which can be done through visualisation, prayer.” People’s higher consciousness can latch onto this energy, “Probably at an unconscious level...” and this brings about inner change. The Advanced Beings from other planets are helping us as much as they are allowed to by Karmic Law but as Mark states,

 

“…at the end of the day, the buck stops with us … we have to make the change ourselves.”

 

We have to accept and live the teachings of the Cosmic Masters to build a better world. For the Aetherius Society, this is achieved through selfless service as their motto from The Nine Freedoms illustrates,

 

                  “Service is the Jewel in the Rock of Attainment.”

 

The Aetherius Society see big changes happening with the advent of The Age of Aquarius. “At some point in the future, we really don’t know when at all, there will come, what we call a next Master. This is referring to the time when an advanced extra-terrestrial being will come to earth in a spacecraft and there will no longer be any doubt.” There will also be a separation of humanity; some will remain here on earth. But others who are not able or willing to raise their consciousness to meet the new paradigm will cease to reincarnate upon earth and will be born onto another planet – possible one which is presently in the far reaches of our solar system - Planet X. Mark explains that this is not a punishment but more a sorting of groups at different evolutionary levels,

 

“It’s all about learning and if you are a delinquent 14 year old you are not going to learn anything in a PhD class.”

 

There is increased awareness and interest in the UFO phenomenon around the world today particularly with the emergence of organisations such as The Disclosure Project www.disclosureproject.org and Exopolitics www.exopolitics.org. Mark believes that there have been government cover ups and notes that there is a real change in attitudes as to how many people believe in extraterrestrial life. It is now far more common. But he explains that “…there is no point in us all believing in extraterrestrial intelligence full stop. In some ways that would be great but it’s not enough. We have to be ready for contact with them.”

 

And it is through the spiritual practices espoused by The Aetherius Society of prayer, service and meditation that we can make ourselves ready to make contact with the Cosmic Masters. Rather than us waiting for a sign from them, they are waiting for a sign from us. Mark suggests that the initiative is with us and believes that the thinking process of the Interplanetary Masters is one of expectation:

 

“Prove to us that if we shared our technology with you, you would use it correctly. Prove yourself ready for what we can offer you and then, - then, we will move closer you.”
