Welcome Friend,

Halloween has just passed at the end of last month. Its origins dating back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, heralding the end of summer and the harvest and marking the start of deep winter. A date where it is believed the veil between the living and the dead becomes thinner and so enabling a chance to communicate with our ancestors, while warding off unwelcome spirits. We have also just had the Christian ‘All Souls Day’, 2nd November, to remember the dead.

Of course for us in the UK, Bonfire night/Guy Fawkes night is fast approaching on the 5th November, alluding to when Guy Fawkes plotted to blow up Parliament with gunpowder. Grand fireworks and sparklers, sweet toffee apples and bonfires, these traditions pave the way to celebrating the arrival of dark blanketed nights, with great liveliness. – The lively winter sparks are reflected here too at the London College of Spirituality where you can encounter stimulating evening talks, warmly organised social nights and healing nights for your well-being. I grew up in a small town in New Mexico with the niggling belief that in an earlier life I had been a dancer. In a family where a love of the arts did not exist, to my mother’s dismay, I developed a love of ballet. She thought it was okay for little girls to flit about on stage, but it was not a profession she wanted for her only daughter.

She used to say that “ballet is about as useful as a tit on a boar hog”. Her disapproval only increased my determination to dance. I’m Trying To Attract Abundance and it has left me in the Negative

I’m going through so much right now. My partner and I started working with the law of attraction to create abundance in our life and I guess I started getting carried away with it or took it too literally and really started living like I had abundance. Neither one of us have jobs and we were on a strict budget. I made the mistake of tithing a large portion of our money and carelessly spending the rest believing I was acting in the mind state of abundance and now we are broke. My account is overdrawn, my cell phone service has been disconnected and we have no money for anything.

What’s the most discouraging is that I created a light box that a psychic told me to do and wrote down all of my desires with dates. That doesn’t seem to be working. We bought crystals, we’ve also saged our home to remove negative energies. We visualise and meditate. We’ve created a vision board. We even started chanting a Kundalini Yoga “Har” mantra every night to bring abundance and prosperity in our lives. It just seems like nothing is working... read more
