Dear Reader,

When  George, in the famous festive 1946 film,' It's a Wonderful life', is shown what life would be like had he not been born, by a sweet bumbling angel called Clarence, (who is keen to earn his wings on this assigned project) he is in for a surprise.  The trainee angel intercedes and distracts George just as he is considering taking his own life on a snowy Christmas eve after a dark and testing time in his life.  George has the opportunity to see how much his immediate world and loved ones would be lacking, without his contribution, love and care. It would be a starker world by far.

So as we approach the end of 2009 this month, the year of mastery (of ourselves) some may say, 11 being the numerological digits of a master number, complete with its challenges and rapid changes, calling us to 'step up' in our collective consciousness on behalf of humanity, - appreciate others yes, but appreciate ourselves too and all that we have accomplished this year. Instead of the internal chatter of, 'could have done better, could have tried harder, could have progressed further', perhaps it's time to acknowledge all of those tiny gestures we do daily as well as the larger ones. Cracking a joke to lighten the mood of someone feeling low, feeding the birds, cooking with love, sending a warm email to a friend...Clarence and co are beaming at us as we do all of the above and so much more, because we are making a difference after all.

From us here at Voyager Spirit we would like to thank all of our contributors this year and a very special thanks goes to our regular writers and to all of our readers. Wishing everyone a very warm, peaceful and joyful Christmas, Winter (or Summer) solstice and a bright new year,

Much Love and Blessings,

The Voyager Spirit Team

We live our lives as a feather blowing in the wind, desperately trying to work out where the feather will land or control which direction it will take. In truth, we never know where our feather takes us - and this is a beautiful thing - to allow the feather to breeze through existence with eternal freedom and infinite possibility.

If we look at our lives, we see that there may be control everywhere. We attempt to control our thoughts, our actions, our perceptions, our futures, our emotions, the people around us, our careers, our behaviours. It is all a reflection of a philosophy based in fear, where we assume that control equates to security. We assume that if I know the result of this series of actions then I will be safe. If I know what this person is thinking I will be safe. If ...

Nature is calling us: The Elementals
by Fiona Murray

At this time of the year, as the nights shorten and the winter weather starts to envelop us, many people prefer to retreat to a cosy chair in front of the fire, closing the curtains and shutting out the world as if hibernating until the first signs of spring reappear. However those of us who can still hear the call of nature are in for a treat if we take walks out in the countryside in the frosty weather, along forest paths, in the snow or by a river and allow ourselves to become aware of the stillness the land seems to develop around 3pm in the afternoon. This is the time of day in winter I start to hear the Elementals (the nature guardians) whispering to me. They start to call on me and often it is as if out of the corner ... read more

An Interview with Steve Nobel
by John Charleston

Steve Nobel's journey from city worker through to Director of Alternatives, the London based spirituality and self-development organisation based at St.James's church, Piccadilly, central London, has been marked by major turning points. The death of his father and a bout of chronic depression prompted him to leave his job in banking in his late twenties. This was a tough transition - his family had always said that 'a job is for life', and it took him a long time to begin to explore his own ideas and intuitions.

"I wasn't enjoying work, I wasn't enjoying relationships ... and I wasn't really feeling inspired about anything."

Many writers and thinkers influenced Steve during this period including Joseph Campbell's The Hero With a Thousand Faces and documentary The Power of Myth. Gill Edwards' Living Magically was also a major influence as was Nick Williams' The Work ...

Movie Review - 2012
by John Charleston

Director Roland Emmerich brings us another apocalyptic disaster movie in keeping with his previous Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. 2012 shows us in finest CGI detail the end of the world by earthquake, flood and tsunami. This time annihilation is not caused by global warming or aliens, but by rays from the sun (neutrinos) which have heated the earths' crust and caused huge land mass shifts and pole re-alignment. The film alludes to the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar that started in 3114 BC and ends abruptly in late 2012. Many, including Woody Harrelson's character, hippy radio preacher Charlie Frost, have taken this ending of the astronomically astute Mayan's cycle to signal the end of the world - hence the movies' tag line, "We were warned".

American president (Danny Glover) tips off the rest of the worlds' leaders about the ensuing doom after ...

Inspirations from Binah

What is a DNA Activation?

 Hi there,

I heard about this DNA activation recently, and when I looked around on the internet, I found there are practitioners who hold sessions to activate a client's DNA. I am not from the US or Europe, where I find that these practitioners are based. Is this the only way? Can you shed some light as an article online? I'd be very grateful!

Bless you!

Inspirations from Binah:
If we are made in the image of the Source of Creation, God, Light, the Fountain, then we have the same DNA as our creator. And yet, we do not often find that we have enabled all the same gifts and abilities. Whether you believe that we fell from the Garden of Eden, were sent to Earth to have a human experience, or modified by aliens, the end result is ...
